Originally, Building 9 of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology housed Electrical Trades and the Radio School, which helped to train army and air force communications staff in World War 2.

The building is now home to the school of Media and Communication covering a range of topics including design, journalism, photography, and media.

Frenger® was selected to supply the university building with their range of Active Chilled Beams, providing students and other building occupants with high levels of cooling and Thermal Comfort.
